What is the Vote For the Environment?
Vote for the Environment is a non-partisan campaign promoting the adoption of the critical environmental policies by political parties to:
- Tackle climate change by reducing GHG emissions by 30% on 1990 levels by 2020.
- Clean up all New Zealand streams and rivers by 2020.
- Reform oceans management by 2010 to preserve and protect the marine environment.
- Save New Zealand's natural heritage.
- Show leadership for the Environment.
The groups supporting the campaign are ECO and Greenpeace.
It is registered as a third party under the Electoral Finance Act 2007.
